With all the weeks of learning rigs for different body parts, I finally came to creating a full character rig by combing all the skills I had used so far and incorporating them all into one rig.
I wont go into depth of how I did this rig as its for the most part similar to how I created all the separate rigs previously, just with some minor tweaks and improvements.
I made sure that the Root control was the main parent and could move the whole rig including the mesh once skinned with ease.
I also added attributes to the wrist controller for each finger on that hand to bend. I was really happy with the outcome of these in the end and these were achieved by using set driven keys, which I have really picked up on throughout this character rig especially.
Finally the biggest worry with the character rig was skinning and then the skin weights tool as with such a complex model like a character there are a lot more ways the rig can move, each distorting the model in different ways, unlike with someone like the car rig I did before.
Luckily I got to grips with the tool and I feel that the final outcome is decent if anything. I would be lieing if I said I was 100% with the outcome of my rig though with a lack of time near the end I had to go with what I could. Thankfully it seems to suffice.
